Our 2011 goals continue to be holding a dog and musher friendly event, which will be both educational and fun for spectators, and to build an event that will be a signature tourism event for Siskiyou County.
Important News & Information
- Allan Iverson the race marshal, and his wife Sandi will be the dog truck parking manager.
- Dr. Doug Marks will be the head Vet! We have OSU Vet tech students coming to assist him.
- Siskiyou County Amateur Radio Association is onboard again allowing for quick posting of progress/news/times/and interviews from the trail for both the mid- distance and sprint races with immediate posting of times at the trailhead.
- Medical - Mary Fornier, who graciously conducted a First Aid CPR Class for our volunteers will be incharge of medical services with the assistance of Donna Larson.
- Weed, Lake Shastina Kiwanis Club will be cooking at the Deer Mountain Traihead/ Start/finish Line. All proceeds go to local charities and children services.
- Great coverage is expected this week by the local press and radio stations.
We recomend that all musher keep their teams vacinations updated due to teams coming in from different areas of the country. Have your records with you in case the vet has a concern over an issue with one of your dog’s health.

$2,500 estimated total for the sprint races, 16 mile mid-distance and skijoring, 5 races, paying out to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Purse is determined by sponsorships, donations, entries, and T-shirt sales.
