Siskiyou Sled Dog Races 2012- Event Schedule
Sat. & Sun., March 17-18
All events take place at the Deer Mountain / Chuck Best Memorial Snowmobile Park located 16.8 miles north of Weed off Highway 97. Watch for Signs. Free Parking. Be Prepared for Winter Driving. Start times may change. Alternate site at Four Corners will be available if snow conditions at Deer Mountain are marginal. Check here for most current information.
SATURDAY – MARCH 17 (DAY 1 – FIRST HEAT)
Free Parking. SSDSA Merchandise Booth. Kiwanis Food Concessions. Sponsor Displays. Mushing demonstrations.
8 AM Mushers Meeting
(mandatory for all mushers, start positions will be selected by mushers in order of receipt of entry fees.)
9:00 AM Start – 18 mile - Open Class (up to 16 dogs)
10:00 AM Start – 13.5 mile - 6 Dog Mid Distance
11:00 AM Start - 5 mile – 4 Dog Sprint
12:00 PM Start - 5 mile – 1 or 2 dog – Skijor
1:00 PM Start - 5 mile – 6 Dog Sprint
2:00 PM Start – 10 mile – 8 Dog Sprint
Mushers get together at Weed Brewery after the last race of the Day

9:00 AM Start - 18 mile - Open Class (up to 16 dogs)
10:00 AM Start – 13.5 mile – 6 Dog Mid Distance
11:00 AM Start - 5 mile – 4 Dog Sprint
12:00 PM Start - 5 mile – 1 or 2 dog – Skijor
1:00 PM Start - 5 mile – 6 Dog Sprint
2:00 PM Start – 10 mile – 8 Dog Sprint
Awards will be presented immediately after the races in the
Deer Mountain Warming Hut. Have a safe drive home.
